NCRC's very own ultraman Joey Anderson has done it again, adding yet another potential top 3 hit to NCRC's vast media library (all three songs). Joey's latest creation is the Hinson Lake Blues, a musical tale of his recent effort in the Hinson Lake 24 Hour Ultra Classic. The 103.36 mile romp by Joey also served as an opportunity to raise money for the UNC - Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. You can read about this generous effort at the NC Ultra website.
Joe's two other previous hits are:26 Miles To Go which describes in musical detail the saga of his qualifying effort for the 2006 Boston Marathon and the people who supported him along the way, and then there's Moonlight Boogie - a tribute to the Bethel Hill Moonlight Boogie.
The recordings were made at a well known Zebulon studio (actually, it was Joey's kitchen). Playing most of the instrumental parts himself and backed by the much-needed melodic vocals of fellow NCRCers Karla and Frank Werner, Margherita and Bill Scott, Linda Bennett, and Jerry Paul, Joey assembled this one-of-a-kind musical collection. Forget Napster. With very little coercion Joey gratiously offered these songs for everyone to download free of charge. These songs are guaranteed to put extra spring in your stride and a "can do" attitude in your head when you're out there dreading that 6:00am training run in the pouring rain.
You can click on the individual MP3 files and listen to each song or you download all three songs in the zip file format. For you technologically challenged individuals, here are instructions to save the zip file on your computer:
