SATURDAY - February 11, 2012
Early packet pick-up will held at on Saturday, February 11th from 2:00pm - 6:00pm at TrySports in Crabtree Valley Mall (4325 Glenwood Avenue #1108).
SUNDAY - February 12, 2012

COURSE INFORMATION : The 5K course is a USAT&F certified loop. It starts and finishes on Halifax Street between the Community Center and Pilot Mill and winds through parts of the historic Mordecai neighborhood west of Wake Forest Road. The children's races take place on Halifax Street fining near the Community Center. Click this link to view the Course Map.
CO-ED PAIRS COMPETITION :
Entrants can further register as a male/female pair during Saturday or Sunday packet pickup. Co-ed pairs will be ranked by the sum of their finishing times. Awards will be provided to the top three co-ed pairs.
NOTE: You may race as an individual OR a coed-pair, but not both.
PUMP'N RUN COMPETITION:
Entrants can sign up on race day to participate in the Pump ‘N Run Competition.
Registration and Competition will begin at 12:30pm on race day inside the Halifax Community Center.
There is an additional cost of $5.00 for entering this competition which is paid at the weigh-in on race day.
Requirements:
• Male entrants will be required to bench press their weight.
• Women will be required to bench press 50% of their weight.
For each complete bench press, 30 seconds will be subtracted from your 5K time.
Awards will be presented to the top three males and the top three females with the lowest “net” times.
CHILDREN'S EVENTS: The events are 100 meters for 6 years & Under, and 1/4 mile for 6-10 years old. Registration for the Children's Races will take place on race day. Parents are welcome and encouraged to run with their children. All children participating in these events will recieve a medal for completing their race. These races will start at 3:00 pm
T-SHIRTS: All participants that have registered before Feburary 1, 2012 will receive a race t-shirt. There will be no t-shirts ordered for registrations received after 2/1/12. Please be aware that t-shirts may run small. There will be no exchanges available, the size you indicate when registering will be the size ordered for you
EVENT TIMING: All participants will be issued a MYLaps timing chip. Chips will be picked on Race Day at the Registration Area. Chips MUST be secured to the runners' shoes and will be collected ater the runners cross the finish line. All runners who fail to return their chips will be assessed a $15 penalty. Any entrant who picks up his/her chip, but fails to finish, must turn the chip in at the finish line on race day or mail it after the race to: Young & Associates, 7001 Rainwater Road, Raleigh, NC 27615.
RACE DAY PARKING: Plenty of parking is available at Pilot Mill north of the Halifax Community Center near Halifax and Cedar Streets. Parking on the Peace College Campus is for their faculty, staff, and students. Please respect this private property.
POST RACE ACTIVITIES: Please join us for a post race party that will include food, fun and awards starting after the Children's Events at 3:00pm. You may want to plan a visit to the nearby Mordecai Historic Park. The Mordecai Mansion is the oldest house in Raleigh still standing in its original location. The house is said to be haunted by the ghost of Mary Mordecai and was featured on an episode of the Sci-Fi channel's "Ghost Hunters". Also on the property is the original birthplace home of Andrew Johnson. Downtown Raleigh is full of Meusems, food, and shopping. Easily within walking distance are The Shops at Seaboard Station located of Peace Street. Official race results will be posted after the race at www.ncroadrunners.org.

- Top 3 M&F in each age category: 12& Under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69,
70-74, 75-79, 80+
Pet Food Collections
We will be collecting pet food for the Wake County SPCA and other Animal Rescue Organizations. Please bring any dontations with you on Race Day or to early packet pickup and place in the bins labeled for the donations! Last year we collected 800 lbs of pet food!
