Ways to Earn Volunteer Points

NCRC race or activity: 1 point/hour volunteered

(this also this includes April Series, Umstead Summer Series, Social runs, etc. if volunteer helped at the event)

Non-NCRC race or activity:  1 point/hour volunteered

(when club receives benefits from the event for providing volunteers)

NCRC leadership/committee work:  1 point/hour volunteered

Providing article for newsletter: 1 point/page

Attending membership meeting:  2 points/meeting

"Key Positions"* on race committees: 10 point bonus

 

* Examples of key positions are course director, refreshments chairperson, registration chairperson or additional roles as described by race director/committee   

Frequent Volunteer Bonus: At the end of the year if a volunteer is short of the 20 points needed for Gold Level and to attend the volunteer dinner, they will be awarded additional "frequent volunteer bonus" points equal to the number of events at which they volunteered (up to a maximum of 5 frequent volunteer bonus points).

Example: A member volunteers at 5 races, and earns 15 volunteer points. 5 Frequent Volunteer Bonus points would be awarded at the end of the year bringing member's total to 20 points, achieving Gold Level and attending the volunteer dinner.
