Back by popular demand! A 10-week
series of training runs and clinics that prepare women to run in
the North Carolina Roadrunners Club Women’s Distance Festival
5K on Saturday in late September.
The
Women's Beginner Running Program introduces (sometimes re-introduces) women
to the sport of fitness running as a life-long activity and prepares
them to complete a 5K race at their own pace and injury free. Our target
race is the held on Saturday in September 29th. in Raleigh.
The group will meet on Thursdays at 6:00 PM at Lake Lynn Community Center on Ray Road for a run and informational clinic will be held at 7:00 after running.
Other weekly
runs are held at - on the following schedule:
Monday at 6:00 am
Tuesday at 6:00 pm
Saturday at 8:00 am
Participants are not expected to be at every run. Mentors
are available at all of the runs to run with the class participants
and no one ever has to run alone.
This highly successful program is designed and led
by experienced female runners who have competed in 5K races as well
as marathons, as well as by past graduates of beginner classes. ALL
LEVELS OF RUNNERS ARE WELCOME! |
