The North Carolina Roadrunners Club presents the 16th Annual Women’s Distance Festival 5k. Our charitable partner organization is Interact, a private, non-profit agency whose mission is to provide safety and support to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and to promote violence-free relationships and communities through collaboration, public information and advocacy. The course is a USAT&F certified 5K loop. It starts and finishes on Halifax Street between the Community Center and Pilot Mill and winds through part of the historic Mordecai neighborhood west of Wake Forest Road. Registration Information: Packet Pick-up and Late Registration:
Event Times: 5k race - 8:30am Parking: Parking is available at Pilot Mill north of the Halifax Community Center near Halifax and Cedar Streets. Parking on the Peace College campus is for their faculty, staff, and students, and visitors. Please respect their private property. PLEASE JOIN US! We encourage women and girls of all ages and abilities to participate. The event is often a female runner's first opportunity to take part in a group-running activity. This year the event will include women from the North Carolina Roadrunners Club Women’s Beginning Running Program. These women, many of whom have never participated in a race before, have trained for this event as a group during a 10-week period. |
