We encourage women and girls of all ages and abilities to participate.  The event is often a female runner's first opportunity to take part in a group-running activity.  This year the event will include women from the North Carolina Roadrunners Club Women’s Beginning Running Program. These women, many of whom have never participated in a race before, have trained for this event as a group during a 10-week period.
Women of all ages from the Triangle, Triad and Eastern North Carolina will participate in the Race. Awards are given to overall, age group and overall master winners, but everyone is a winner in this race and health walk. Whether you run or walk, the event provides positive feedback to all participants and provides important role models for young women.
